A hard rocker tamed! On a Long Island beach Rammstein-guitarist Richard accepted his dream woman Caron. BRAVO was a guest at the romantic love ceremony...

The tender and full feeling mix of the minor chord of a single guitar which is conjured up in the rush of the Atlantic wave, sounds from the loudspeakers of a Ghetto blaster, composed by German guitarist Richard Kruspe (32) for the woman in his heart – a soundtrack for the dream wedding of the year. The hard rocker from Berlin stands with the New Yorker Model Caron Bernstein (29) before the marriage altar constructed in the open air.

The Place: Montauk Beach on Long Island/New York.
The Date: 29 October 1999 16.00 hours. Richard wears a black suit with white silk tie. One can read his inner feelings clearly. Tears of emotion are in his eyes. At his side, barefoot in the sand, he holds the hand of his dark haired bride, who is wearing a superhot, midriff-free dress with white veil; he does not let go for one instant. Caron only has eyes for one - her bridegroom.
The diagnosis: Completely in love.

The wedding is carried out in accordance with the rites of Caron’s Jewish religion by a New York Rabbi. He senses that the pair on their pink cloud threaten to float away together and smiling interrupts their speech: “You may now kiss her. I have the impression you need it more than my words!”

Under the yelling applause of about 100 guests Caron and Richard sink into each others arms in a long intimate kiss. The outdoor ceremony lasts approximately 20 minutes. They vows and loyally promise: “I solemnly promise to honour and love you to the end our day”, Richard speaks in German, Caron born in South Africa, in her native language English. Then the Rabbi announces: “Ladies and Gentlemen: Mr and Mrs Richard Bernstein” Richard immediately takes his wife’s name.

The Love story of the two reads like a rock’n’roll fairy tale. In the previous June Rammstein manager Emu introduced the two to each other after the Band appeared in New York. “What happened I would never have considered possible. I looked into Caron’s eyes and knew, she was the woman of my life” says Richard. At the beginning of July, he confided to BRAVO Chief Reporter Hannsjörg Reimann: “I will marry Caron in October. You are the first I have told and you are hereby invited to the wedding” Richard made true his promise. The honeymoon, however, was shifted. Three days after the wedding, Richard flew back to Berlin, in order to put the finishing touches to the new album with the Band. Caron remains in New York, where she wants to start her film career. Richard: “Next year we will be together, it doesn’t matter whether in Berlin or New York!
